How to Add Reviews in Squarespace

Having lots of reviews doesn’t just help prospective customers make a decision before making a purchase. They act as trust signals, showing web visitors that you’re a credible and reliable choice in the marketplace.

How to Add Product Reviews in Squarespace
As Squarespace is designed for e-commerce, it’s easy to set up reviews for your product pages.
To enable Squarespace product reviews, click on the cog at the bottom left-hand side of your website to access Settings. Next, choose Selling and Product Reviews.
Click SET UP AUTOMATION to get started. This allows you to send an email to customers 14 days after their purchase to request a review. These reviews will then appear on the relevant product page.
The great thing about this is that Squarespace sends the email automatically on your behalf—you don’t need to do anything.
In the next step, you can edit the automation flow for requesting a review. If you click on Send email and EDIT EMAIL, you can amend the email that goes out to customers, including changing the subject line, email copy, and global email style.
Click the black ACTIVATE button in the top right-hand corner when you’re ready, and Squarespace product reviews will be set up.
If you go back to the Product Reviews menu, there are now some additional options you can choose.
You can edit or delete your automated email flow
You can opt to receive an email notification when you get a new review
You can decide whether to show specific product reviews on a page, reviews for all products, or both
If you have an Etsy store, you can connect your account to import all product reviews to your Squarespace site.
You can view your review requests by clicking MANAGE AUTOMATION and selecting VIEW REVIEWS.
Here you can see all customer reviews including when they were posted, the product, and the rating and review.
You can hide a specific rating or review by clicking the Visibility drop-down menu and selecting Public or Hidden.
Remember that while you might opt to hide irrelevant reviews or remove reviews for products you no longer sell, you shouldn’t just hide a review because it’s negative.
Customers appreciate seeing all feedback, whether it’s good or bad.
How to Add Service Reviews in Squarespace
If you provide a service to people, for example if you’re a mortgage broker or a consultant, you won’t need to add product reviews to your Squarespace site.
However, you might have service reviews on a platform like Google, Facebook, or Yelp that you want to showcase on your website.
Squarespace doesn’t have a built-in solution for adding reviews to your site at the moment, but there are workarounds.
An easy solution is to screenshot your reviews and add a gallery block to your website. You can do this by:
Going to the page you want to add your gallery block to
Clicking the Add Block button
Selecting Gallery
You can then click the pencil icon to upload images and change the style of your gallery – a carousel works well for displaying reviews.
Bear in mind that you can’t add gallery blocks to every page on your website. In this case, you can add a gallery section instead. You can do this by clicking Add Section, scrolling down to Images and choosing the layout of your choice.
Alternatively, you can use a review plugin. This automatically syncs reviews, meaning visitors can see your most recent ratings and feedback.

These plugins work by giving you a piece of code to embed into your website. Copy the code and go to the page you want to add your reviews to.
Click Add Block, choose Code, paste the code into the box, and you’re good to go.
